A little gift from me to you.

So yesterday, to celebrate the resurrection of this blog, I posted what I consider one of my better "tricks"; i.e. how to force the Calendar Object to display weeks starting on Sunday instead of the default Monday.

The trick is described in detail here: Trick #4 - Calendar Object Start Day

Now I have to warn you, this isn't a typical "use the aggr function" trick. This trick is more of a hack of QlikView.  Please read all  of the details (and warnings) described in the trick before you attempt to implement it.

In the coming days I'll be posting tricks for such things as:
  • Dynamic support of  multiple timezones
  • Dynamic support of multiple languages.
  • Meaningful average value displays
  • User-friendly date/time selection
  • and other surprises!
Stay tuned!

PS, I've also just added a bunch of helpful Hints. Check them out!

I'm baaaack..

Apologies for my prolonged absence. Life with 3 kids (2 in college) has a way of usurping all your spare time. Anyway, I'm back and I've got a huge backlog of QlikView goodies to share with you. So, hopefully, it'll have been worth the wait. I'll try to get them uploaded as quickly as possible.

Thanks for your patience,
-Steve

Happy July 4th!

Since my wife had to work the holiday, I spent my time reorganizing and adding to the Tips, Tricks and Hints. Enjoy!

Welcome!

Hello and welcome!

This blog is officially open.

I created it to share my knowledge and experiences developing applications for QlikView 11.2.  If you're a QlikView designer, developer or even a user, I hope you find something useful here.

And as always, if you find something to be erroneous, please let me know so that I can correct it!

Regards,

Steve
